Liebherr Container Cranes, a renowned European manufacturer of cutting-edge port equipment, is delighted to declare the sale of three sizable dual-trolley ship-to-shore container cranes (STS) to Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) for deployment at their Container Terminal Altenwerder (CTA) situated within the Port of Hamburg. This terminal has consistently led the industry by embracing pioneering solutions and state-of-the-art technology, solidifying its position as an industry trailblazer. These advanced cranes represent a noteworthy achievement in the enduring collaboration between Liebherr and HHLA.

The dual trolley ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, equipped with two trolleys on a single crane, provide exceptional operational flexibility and increased efficiency. The primary trolley manages the container transfers between the ship and the landside, while the secondary portal trolley can simultaneously handle transfers from the crane to the automated guided vehicles. This simultaneous operation decouples the landside and seaside operations, reducing waiting times and significantly enhancing vessel turnaround times. This not only improves operational safety but also maximizes productivity, optimizing overall operations at the container terminal.
