Overview
An SRAM Senior Design Engineer is a technical leader and mentor to other Design Engineers and engineering support staff, helps to develop and support continuous improvement, trains others in effective engineering at SRAM, and demonstrates good engineering practices in daily work. This role is focused on the design and development of high-quality hydraulic brake products.  You will join a highly effective, caring team in an office stocked with work benches, an in-house machine shop, and a full test lab. Not all SRAM engineers are cyclists, but we all have a passion for creating our world-class products. Responsibilities
Design and develop high-quality, robust products from concept to prototyping to mass production.
Create detailed drawings and implement designs in Asian factories.
Effectively document design specifications using standard documentation practices.
Apply SRAM engineering best practices and standard procedures in how work is accomplished. Help define and improve these best practices and procedures.
Regularly collaborate and consult with other engineers and communicate effectively with other team members.
Facilitate problem resolution with the design team, at factories, and with suppliers.
Product input for the development of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Mitigate risk by utilizing solid engineering science principles through proactive design analysis.
Act as the Technical Lead within a given design engineering team, overseeing the work of other engineers.
Take an active hands-on role to ensure that engineering problems are resolved thoroughly.
Act as a role model, mentor, and teacher to other engineers.
Champion great design and best practices.
Take an active, hands-on role in all levels of design review.
Provide design insight to other engineers, team members, and suppliers.
May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred); or equivalent.
5+ years of professional engineering experience.  Consumer product design experience is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
Exceptional communication, teamwork, and relationship skills.
Experience applying a variety of engineering tools such as statistics, GD&T, FEA, FMEA, and tolerance analysis.
Experience designing with a variety of manufacturing processes such as forging, CNC machining/turning, plastic injection molding, and stamping.
CAD experience desired in the following areas: 3D parametric solid modeling, creating and managing assemblies, layout and detailing of drawings, and change management systems. Pro/Engineer experience is preferred.
Ability to recognize, learn, and accept cultural differences and work in a flexible and changing work environment, both alone and within teams.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally multiple times per year for one to two weeks at a time.
Meetings and phone calls at alternative timelines (AM/PM with other locations).

As well as 401k match, life insurance, long-term disability, and paid time off. Salary range is $100,000 + up to 35% based on skills and experience level. This position is eligible for an annual corporate bonus based on company and individual performance.
This role is located in Colorado Springs, CO, and non-local candidates will be expected to relocate.
