The Terex is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Training Specialist in Watertown, SD, to join its dynamic team. The selected candidate will ensure the fleet operates at peak performance, directly contributing to safety, efficiency, and sustainability in daily operations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with business leaders in order to discover training gaps and needs for improvement.
  • Train team members on hydraulic installation procedures by explaining not only how but also the "how" as well as the "why"--including the function of the system flow paths as well as safety concerns. The reasons why Terex connects trucks in particular ways.
  • Offer hands-on training in the work setting, showing proper techniques and ensuring the correct use of hydraulic processes.
  • Maintain a clean, positive, safe, and secure learning environment that encourages respect, active learning, group-based management, and the ability to recognize cultural differences.
  • Plan training schedules and coordinate the necessary equipment, tools, workspaces, and materials.
  • Establish training agendas and keep the same training schedules.
  • Review existing training materials, such as outline and objectives, handouts and exercises, and recommend changes to accommodate business requirements.
  • Provide workshops in areas such as continuous improvement and communication, leadership, basic principles, Customer service, and technical operations.
  • Make sure you have enough educational materials and aids for learning.
  • Assess the level of engagement of learners and adapt delivery methods to suit.
  • Note all training events and keep up-to-date training records.
  • Maintain and support the Train-the-Trainer program.
  • Create or revise training content whenever needed, and include materials to support new or improved procedures.
  • Conduct assessments of training needs and assist in the development of self-assessment tools.
  • Facilitate both large and small group exercises for training.
  • Other tasks related to the goals in the Training & Development function.
