Assembly Mechanic - Manufacturers

Astec is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Assembly Mechanic - Manufacturers to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about maintaining and assembling a wide range of heavy-duty equipment used in environmental services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to their operations' safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Activities & Responsibilities

· Assembles, cleans parts, machined parts, and subassemblies
· Applies hand tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic tools, and precision measuring instruments to perform tasks
· Removes burrs and rough spots from the parts using hand file, hone stone, or portable pneumatic grinder
· Uses overhead cranes and forklifts to transfer parts and materials into and out of the work area, as well as assemble large components
· Makes minor repairs, adjustments, or setups to equipment or machines under supervision
· Perform all duties specified in the job in a safe manner that complies with the plant safety standards and report any issues immediately to the Department Supervisor or the team leader.
· Other responsibilities as required: may involve basic welding, washing, priming and painting of parts or assembly
