General Maintenance - 3rd Shift

GFL Environmental seeks a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional passionate about maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment used in environmental services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations.

Essential Job Tasks

• Safe operation of any tools and equipment being repaired.
• Doing repairs and/or preventive maintenance in a safe and timely manner.
• Shoveling snow and salting sidewalks as needed and maintaining all walkways as clean & ice-free as possible.
• Tool and die manufacturing in the fabrication thereof, including the use of surface grinders, lathes, and milling machines.
• In charge of fixing electrical, electro-mechanical, hydraulics, pumps, controllers, motors, and other equipment whenever necessary.
• In charge of changing light bulbs, electrical outlets, and conduits when necessary.
• In charge of checking equipment and buildings internally and externally, and performing preventive maintenance and/or repairs on all the equipment and buildings that inspection indicates are necessary.
