Heavy Duty Mechanic

SMS Equipment is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment used in environmental services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations.

Responsibilities are not limited to:

• Assemble, perform preventive maintenance, repair, and overhaul complete heavy equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions or faults using testing equipment or computers to ascertain repair extent needed.
• Recommend the extent of repairs and suggest improvements.
• Work on orders and interpret technical manuals.
  Prepare job-specific reports and paperwork as may be required.
• Possesses a keen awareness and attitude towards workplace safety and health.
• Self-motivated and capable of working in an atypical environment with little supervision. Work outside in inclement weather. Job duties may involve physical labor lifting to 50 lbs. Confined Space work is necessary.
