Heavy Equipment Technician II

Amentum is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician II to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about maintaining and repairing equipment used in environmental services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive actions and diagnostic and corrective measures for a wide range of older heavy equipment, including but not limited to backhoes, forklifts, ITs, fire trucks, fuelers, and emergency equipment in accordance with OPNAVINST 5100.12, OPNAVINST 5100.25, and the AUTEC Project Procedures.
• Repair and diagnose malfunctions of components and systems in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Find the required repair parts and send procurement requests.
• Keep track of maintenance tasks and documents when required.
• Read and comprehend shop manuals from manufacturers.
• It is important to be able to communicate with suppliers on occasion.
• Responsible for the security and lock-up of government tools.
• Other duties as required.
