Green Umbrella Recruitment is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Systems Design Manager to join their dynamic team. The selected candidate will ensure the fleet operates at peak performance, directly contributing to safety, efficiency, and sustainability in daily operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Mechanical Design Coordination & Management:

  • Assist in the design of mechanical components and ensure that they are integrated with civil, electrical, and other disciplines.
  • Review and verify mechanical designs, making sure that they are in line with the industry standards, specifications for projects, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Control and manage design subcontractors, and ensure that the deliverables they produce meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Control the design and integration of the fire protection systems and HVAC, piping, cooling, and ventilation systems in the turbine plant.
  • Check the progress on mechanical design initiatives, and provide regular updates and reports to management.
  • Collaboration with design consultants, suppliers, contractors, and vendors to maximize mechanical design concepts for systems.

2. Site Support:

  • Offer technical assistance to the construction team by addressing design-related issues as well as solving mechanical issues.
  • Monitoring the performance on-site of mechanical equipment to ensure they're in line with the design plan and timelines for projects.
  • Sometimes, the site team is in charge of coordinating mechanical and electrical works, as well as making sure that the work is in line with the overall project plan.

3. Project Planning & Performance Monitoring:

  • Assist this project right from the beginning stage of construction until the completion of commissioning and testing, and ensure that all mechanical tasks are completed as planned.
  • Monitor project progress, risks, and possible delays, then take appropriate corrective actions if necessary.
  • Assist in ensuring that you comply with the regulations for safety and fire protection standards and environmental regulations throughout the life cycle of the project.

4. Coordination of Tender & Procurement Processes:

  • Support tendering processes by preparing technical documents, reviewing bids, and evaluating mechanical suppliers/contractors.
  • Assist with budget estimation and ensure that cost-effective solutions are implemented without compromising performance.
