Thorizon is actively seeking a skilled and experienced thermal-hydraulics engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct and provide thermal-hydraulics analysis, which supports crucial design and reactor decisions.
  • Transform engineering-related questions and system requirements into the appropriate thermal-hydraulic models, simulations, and analyses.
  • Choose the appropriate modelling approach and the appropriate computational tool for each issue, taking into account accuracy, complexity, data availability, and the project's requirements.
  • Conduct top-quality CFD as well as system-level thermal hydraulic analyses and critically evaluate the results.
  • Examine the behavior of thermal and hydraulic fluids at different levels of the design, from the components and systems to integrated reactor behavior.
  • Examine relevant transients in reactors and the interactions between thermal hydraulics and other physical phenomena like neutronics.
  • Assist system engineers to analyze as well as improve designs for thermal-hydraulic systems as well as components, such as pumps, heat exchangers, and other equipment.
  • Develop and improve modeling methodologies and tools that enhance the engineering capabilities of Thorizon, constructing computational workflows that include modeling, data preparation and post-processing, and, when necessary, the coupling of different physical models and tools.
