Black & Veatch is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment & Diesel Mechanic - Construction to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations.

Main Duties

• Utilizing appropriate hand (i.e., screwdriver, drill) and power tools (i.e., air drill, impact wrench) to repair, replace, or perform maintenance on equipment. 
• Receive equipment, record the condition, schedule maintenance, and maintain equipment history records. 
• Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to determine the extent of defects. 
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance tasks for equipment and vehicles, ensuring the efficient, clean, and safe fueling and oiling of equipment. 
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions and determine what repair is necessary, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices. 
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges. 
• Adjust and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices. 
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts, and fabricate required parts or items from sheet metal. 
• Safely disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment using hand tools and hoists.
