Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Granite actively seeks a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment used in environmental services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and replace components on a range of equipment, including water trucks and CAT/John Deere earth-moving machinery.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking and changing oil, inspecting seals for leaks, greasing fittings, and replacing filters.
• Conduct thorough safety and mechanical inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
• Carry out welding tasks using MIG, TIG, or stick methods as needed for equipment repairs.
• Operate a mechanic service truck to support field repairs at job sites across Southern Arizona.
• Utilize appropriate tools and diagnostic systems to troubleshoot and repair various equipment systems, including electronics, electrical systems, hydraulics, engines, powertrains, air conditioning, clutches, air brakes, suspensions, and transmissions.
