GFL Environmental is actively seeking a skilled and experienced mechanic to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated professionals. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our operations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and correct issues with operation of heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain large diesel, CNG electric, gasoline, and powered equipment and vehicles.
  • Complete work orders, reports, or order parts, and complete other administrative duties, as required each day.
  • Plan repairs and plan them in the M5 planner. You must also purchase all necessary required parts to make the plan successful.
  • Participate in reviewing mechanical writings for equipment and coordinate the repair schedule.
  • Ensure that your workplace is safe and conforms with all safety rules.
  • Use the various hand and power tools, as well as equipment.
  • Have, maintain, and provide maintenance tools required to complete tasks related to the maintenance of hydraulic and heavy equipment.
  • Keep your work area clean. area.
  • Comply with applicable federal, provincial, and local laws or regulations, ordinances, and other regulations and adhere to all policies, procedures, and directions from supervisors.
  • Assist with the orientation and training of new employees.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of and stay abreast of the latest technologies through the utilization of technical manuals and participation in technical workshops and tests.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as required by management.
