Mechanic I

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, fluid changes, diagnostics, and repairs on administrative vehicles, water tankers, pickup trucks, snowplows, park equipment, and snowblowers.
• Mount, balance, and repair tires as needed.
• Construct and replace hydraulic hoses.
• Carry out welding and fabrication tasks to repair or modify vehicle and equipment parts.
• Support the scheduling of maintenance tasks and repair activities.
• Assist in ordering, receiving, and managing parts inventory for vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and all shop equipment.
• Stay up to date with the latest repair techniques, tools, and vehicle specifications.
• Help maintain the facility, equipment yard, and fuel systems.
• Keep accurate digital records of all vehicle maintenance activities.
• Remove snow from the shop yard and entry points as required.
• Clean, vacuum, and polish vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal presentation.
