ASPHALT PLANT OPERATOR

Knife River is actively seeking a skilled and experienced ASPHALT PLANT OPERATOR to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated professionals.  The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operate and oversee all plant processes and systems, including conveyors, dryers, screens, and mixing drums
• Control the blending and mixing of raw materials in order to produce and monitor asphalt to ensure it meets all specifications
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment
• Troubleshoot and conduct repairs on mechanical or operational problems to minimize downtime
  Maintain accurate and detailed records of production and maintenance logs
• Maintain compliance with all environmental regulations and company safety policies
• Coordinate with truck drivers and dispatch to ensure timely loading and delivery
• Help in the setup and shut-down of the plant, including cleaning
• Operate other heavy equipment such as loaders or skid steers, as required
