GFL Environmental is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment used in environmental services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations.

Duties

  • Drive a manually powered gasoline or electric Forklift to transfer, deliver or move materials within the warehouse site
  • Capable of operating standard lifting equipment and other simple material handling aids
  • Drive equipment to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or relocate products, equipment, or materials
    Execute the following: loads, unload and stack materials on lifting device, weigh material or products and record on production schedules.
  • Conduct safety inspections of lifts.
    The capacity to apply instructions, whether working on own or part of a group.
  • Obey all company procedures and legal standards
  • Check machinery in order to determine whether there are repairs that must be made and ensure safety through regular servicing.
