GT Group is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their dynamic team. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assesses the condition of vehicles through inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying parts that are worn or damaged.
  •  Services, repairs, and maintains various types of automotive equipment, including container truck lifts, reach stackers, front-end loaders, cranes, and other specialized machinery.
  • Keeps records of all equipment that has been repaired, including the time spent on each.
  • Examines bulldozers, cranes, and other heavy machinery to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Inspects equipment to identify faults and malfunctions, and determines the necessary extent of repairs.
  • Adjusts equipment and repairs or replaces faulty parts, components, or systems using suitable tools.
  • Tests repaired equipment to ensure it performs properly and meets manufacturer standards.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance tasks on equipment.
  • Establishes and maintains a schedule for preventive maintenance, including lubrication, tire replacement, and tune-ups.
  • Provides training and instruction on the correct methods and procedures for equipment repair, inspection, and preventive maintenance.
  • Helps other mechanics with more complex tasks.  
  • Carries out layout work for the fabrication of parts and equipment.  
  • Carries out other related duties as needed.
