Tetra Tech is actively seeking a skilled and experienced hydraulics engineer to join their dynamic team. The selected candidate will ensure the fleet operates at peak performance, directly contributing to safety, efficiency, and sustainability in daily operations. 

Your Role:

  • Performs duties under general direction.
  • Pipeline Hydraulics (Steady State & Transient Analysis).
  • Reviews and organizes elevations data, drawings, and pump curves. Also, it reviews fluid properties (vapor density, pressure viscosity, and bulk modulus) as well as valve curves and closure times and max operating pressure (MOP) limits and creates hydraulic models using Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS) or Applied Flow Technology (AFT).
  • Programs to operate in steady state and adjusts hydraulics models using operational data from the past.
  • Assist with the sizing of pumps, selection, and control strategy (pressure control valve or variable frequency drive).
  • The program manages transient case events (pump start/stop, pump trips, and accidental valve closings) and then analyzes the results. Makes necessary adjustments to the system and formulates recommendations.
  • Helps in selecting a relief valve and disposal system sizing.
  • Participate in internal and external review meetings to present and discuss status and results and collaborate on solutions/recommendations.
