Black & Veatch is actively seeking a skilled and experienced senior registered engineer—structural—hydropower/hydraulic structures—to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our operations. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provides guidance and direction for department designs, standards, and systems as well as applicable engineering codes and B&V policies. Can own, maintain, or update engineering standards and guidelines. Give technical direction to others on projects or disciplines.
  • Utilizes knowledge and ensures conformity to B&V quality guidelines. Develops and implements processes related to it, and creates a culture that promotes the pursuit of quality. Encourages continuous improvement in change management and initiatives to manage risk.
  • Develops a variety of complex engineering deliverables for large or multiple projects. Conducts extensive research and formulates suggestions for materials and equipment selection. Responsible for the collection, processing, and administration of data for engineering projects.
  • Performs complicated engineering calculations using established methods and guidelines. Controls the budget and schedule as well as quality specifications. Develops and implements advanced engineering solutions to complicated issues. Responsible for ensuring that project teams delegate the appropriate tasks to team members in order to build the depth of the project execution team. Review lower-level engineering work or assignments. Responsible for any or all of the following tasks: leading teams of production, coordinating multiple disciplines, and acting as the primary charge for projects. Creates a plan of work to be implemented for a specific project.
  • Coordinates with other team members, both internal and external, on large projects. Commonly responsible for the definition of timelines for projects in a specific discipline or having oversight for several disciplines.
