Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities:

• Repairs and maintains according to the operating manuals, diagrams, and specifications from the manufacturer. Plant machinery and mechanical equipment that are specific to the operation.
• Analyzes and diagnoses manufacturing equipment and machinery problems. Repairs, services, and replaces damaged parts with hand equipment and power tools. begins with machines and equipment to test their efficiency.
• Safely prevents on-the-job injury by using and maintaining equipment safely and effectively to limit risks to workers as well as damage to equipment and inventory.
• Assists in maintaining sanitary conditions during work.
• Makes adjustments and calibrations on equipment and production machinery to increase the efficiency of operations with hand equipment.
• Technical assistance is provided for the department responsible for production with the setup and transition to production machinery.
• Performs preventive maintenance of equipment and machinery and records tasks completed in preventive maintenance documents.
• Discovers ways to improve production processes by monitoring the processes of work and collaborating with line staff.
• Modifies equipment and machinery according to the direction of the Engineering Department to improve functional performance.
• Rebuilds and replaces functional components of manufacturing machinery.
• Collaboration with external vendors to increase the maintenance capabilities.
• Helps the Engineering Department in the implementation and modification of maintenance plans.
• Services and maintains the exterior elements of the dust collection system.
• Other tasks are performed as required. Not a primary function.
