Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities:

• Maintains and repairs, according to instructions, operating manuals, and specifications from the manufacturer. Plant machines and mechanical equipment that are specific to the operation.
• Diagnoses and analyzes the performance of production equipment and machinery malfunctions. Repairs, services, and replaces malfunctioning parts with hand equipment and power tools. test equipment and machines to determine their efficiency.
• Work safely to avoid injury by using and fixing equipment in a safe and effective method to limit risks to workers and the damage to equipment, as well as inventory.
• Assists in maintaining sanitary conditions during work.
• Adjusts and calibrates production equipment and machinery to increase operational efficiency with hand equipment.
• Offers technical assistance in the manufacturing department with the setup and transition to production machinery.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery and records tasks completed in preventive maintenance documents.
• Discovers ways to improve production processes by monitoring procedures as well as working closely with line staff.
• Modifies equipment and machinery in accordance with the Engineering Department to improve functional performance.
• Rebuilds and replaces functional components of production equipment.
• collaborates with outside vendors to improve the in-house maintenance capabilities.
• Helps the Engineering Department with implementation and modifications to maintenance programs.
• Services and maintains the exterior elements of the dust collection system.
• Performs other tasks as needed. Not a primary function.
