Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Herc Rentals is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment used in environmental services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to their operations' safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

What will you do?

• Create and keep a routine of doing preventative maintenance of all Herc Herc-owned fleet at your branch
• Operate, test, and keep equipment in a working condition to meet Herc Rentals' quality and efficiency standards
• Complete routine maintenance and repairs of all Herc fleet equipment and trucks without assistance
• Diagnose internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems
• Make major repairs to keep fleet equipment in good condition using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and measuring devices on one's own
• Perform oil changes, lubrication of the equipment, tire changes, hose repair, battery replacement, and miscellaneous services
• Helpthe  shop lead with customer damage estimates and repairs
• Enter and inspect work orders and finish part ordering through the fleet management system
• Recondition and replace miscellaneous parts of the heavy equipment
