Hydraulic Engineer - Fire Trucks

NAFFCO is actively seeking a skilled and experienced hydraulic engineer for fire trucks to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities: 

• Design and develop hydraulic systems for fire trucks and special-purpose vehicles based on project requirements and vehicle configurations.
• Prepare hydraulic circuit diagrams, schematics, system layouts, installation drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
• Select and size hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, reservoirs, filters, hoses, pipes, and fittings according to system requirements.
• Review customer specifications, project requirements, and chassis configurations to develop practical and cost-effective hydraulic solutions.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for flow rate, operating pressure, power requirements, system capacity, and component compatibility.
• Coordinate hydraulic system integration with the vehicle chassis, power take-off (PTO), firefighting equipment, water and foam systems, and electrical controls.
• Develop hydraulic layouts that ensure proper component positioning, ease of installation, accessibility for maintenance, and efficient use of available space.
• Coordinate with design, production, procurement, quality teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical issues and support project execution.
• Review supplier drawings, component datasheets, and technical proposals to verify compliance with project specifications and design requirements.
• Support production, assembly, installation, testing, and troubleshooting activities to ensure the hydraulic system operates safely and reliably.
