Spanners is actively seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join their dynamic team. The selected candidate will ensure the fleet operates at peak performance, directly contributing to safety, efficiency, and sustainability in daily operations.

Duties

To assess, report on, and repair vehicle faults to the high standard set out in the company’s guide to achieving DVSA roadworthiness standards.  To ensure you fully report on all works using the company’s chosen vehicle maintenance software.  To ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained in a timely manner without delay.  To aim for a 100% first-time MOT pass rate and no less than the national average of 95%.  Attend vehicle breakdowns at the roadside or customers' premises to rectify mechanical breakdowns and request further works in the workshop or communicate the need for recovery where necessary.  For daily communications with fellow colleagues, engage effectively and constructively.  To minimize vehicle downtime and ensure, where possible, vehicles are ready for Service Delivery sooner rather than later.  Receiving correct authorisations for any expenditure and ensuring requests for parts are fully correct not to delay repairs.  Use and wear the correct PPE where appropriate in the workshop.  Report defective equipment as soon as possible.
