Mechatronics/Automation Engineer

Fermel is actively seeking a skilled and experienced mechatronics/automation engineer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated professionals. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our operations.

Technical Responsibilities:

• Create programs, test, and validate software for machine control using the Danfoss PLUS+1 GUIDE.
• Create distributed machine control structures for steering, propulsion, hydraulic actuation, brakes, and other systems.
• Configure the machine controls and calibration parameters as well as the software release package.
• Create machine diagnostic algorithms, fault handling strategies, and embedded software for control.
• Conduct an electrical load analysis and select the appropriate component to ensure that the equipment is suitable for use in harsh underground environments.
• PLC Programming & Automation Systems
• Design programs, program, troubleshoot, and then commission PLC-based control systems to facilitate subsystem automation and machine automation.
• Design control logic for hydraulic systems and safety locks as well as actuator control systems. machine automation and process monitoring systems.
• Integrate the PLC system with HMI displays, sensors, and displays as well as the CAN Bus communication networks' remote I/O systems along with industrial protocols for communication.
• Support for software debugging system commissioning, field testing and optimization of controllers
• HMI Development & Operator Interface Systems
• Develop, design, and set up Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems that allow machine operation and diagnostics, monitoring of faults, and feedback from the operator.
• Design displays for operator screens that can be used for monitoring status and alarm management, as well as fault reporting along with subsystem-specific diagnostics.
