Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer

Black & Veatch is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated professionals. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our fleet operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our operations. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Communication and direct interaction with the counterparts of clients to identify the key areas of interest for identifying technical solutions to their infrastructure issues by providing strategies and concepts to bring projects from idea through to completion.
• Transforming client directions into effective work plans and coordinating with the team members of the project to produce quality work results.
• Writing technical documents in writing such as technical drawings, cost estimates, specifications, alternative analyses, and other common engineering deliverables
• Being familiar with designs guides as well as standards, systems, and engineering codes that are applicable in the field of hydropower.
• The ability to apply understanding of the general principles of engineering such as hydraulics, civil/structural design Geotechnical issues, as well as mechanical systems to produce innovative engineered solutions.
• Assisting in calculations and designing documents.
• Participating in the procurement of equipment and the construction management process.
• Mentoring and managing junior engineers.
• Supporting teams of business development for pursuit tasks. You will also have the chance to manage projects you are pursuing and acquiring.
