Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead technical expertise in the development of civil sites for energy and renewable infrastructure projects, which include BESS, the solar array, roads for access, earthworks, platforms, drainage, as well as cable routing. Give guidance on the application of relevant design guidelines and standards for industry engineering codes, as well as internal quality and safety guidelines. • Manage the development and approval of the design and approval of surface water and foul drainage systems for development projects on the site that include SuDS schemes, storage, attenuation storage, flow control, pumped systems, and adoptable or non-adoptable drainage networks, in accordance with DCG, CIRIA C753, and local authorities' requirements.
  • Perform and supervise analyses of drainage and hydraulics such as greenfield runoff estimation allowances for climate change as well as flow routing to exceedances along with flood risk assessments, making sure that the organization is in conformity with LLFA EA/SEPA and the planning requirements.
  • Prepare and review complicated civil engineering deliverables pertaining to large- to medium-sized or multidisciplinary projects comprising drawings, specifications, method statements, technical reports, and construction documentation. Perform precise engineering calculations for areas such as drainage, earthworks, pavements, foundations, and levels using recognized methods and tools.
  • Coordinate, oversee, and ensure the accuracy of geotechnical and survey environmental as well as third-party data needed to support civil design. Make sure that engineering inputs are correctly included in the development plan.
  • Manage the assigned programs of work, which include budget, program, and quality requirements, and participate in plan and risk management. Apply advanced engineering expertise to address technical difficulties faced during the stages of design as well as construction.
  • Provide technical direction by delegating the appropriate tasks to technicians and engineers in junior positions and evaluating their work to ensure technical accuracy and adherence and assisting them in their professional advancement.
  • Participate in or lead multidisciplinary coordination, working closely with geotechnical, electrical, environmental, planning, and construction teams to provide integrated layouts for sites and solutions.
  • Actively engage with internal stakeholders as well as contractors, clients and regulatory authorities for projects that are moderately complex to assist in identifying the requirements of clients, program drivers and constraints on site, and integrating these into design strategies.
  • Serve as a technical liaison or a specialist within a specific practical area (e.g., drainage, earthworks, cable corridors, or the layout of renewable energy sites) by providing advice and direction across a variety of projects. Utilize innovative and sophisticated techniques of engineering to solve unique technical issues.
