Responsibilities:
Complete the duties and responsibilities for Lower Classified Machine Repair and, in addition, carry out the following duties: Take work orders from a supervisor or Higher Classified Worker. Use schematic drawings, blueprints, written instructions, drawings, verbal instructions, or other types of documentation to perform their job. Repair/service/maintain/recondition complex machine tools and all mechanical and hydraulic devices found throughout the facility.
Diagnose and correct issues with machines/equipment, ensuring they have been repaired properly and efficiently.
Responsible for the rigging, movement, installation, and leveling of all new or relocated machines/equipment, ensuring that they are accurately aligned to provide the highest functionality.
Types of repairs may include parts production, bearing fitting, spindle fitting, way scraping, metalising, replacing and fitting spare parts, and making adjustments to said machines.
The craftsperson performing these functions must be able to apply a wide range of skills to these tasks. In conjunction with other crafts/skill sets, the craftsperson will work in concert with one another on equipment and machinery to ensure it meets all requirements established by management.
Identify components by utilizing labels as aids in the assembly process; identify locations of potential failures; help expedite the process of diagnosing and repairing equipment.
Keep work area/tools/equipment clean and organized.
