Our Material Handling Division, which spans across MiJack RTG cranes, Broderson industrial cranes, LiftKing forklifts, and Greenfield equipment, is hiring a Power Systems Engineering Manager.  In this role you will lead and manage the team responsible for the design and development of Engine Installation Systems, Hydraulic Systems, and Driveline Systems across our material handling product line. Focusing on enhancing machine performance, reliability, and standardization across product lines, through effective collaboration with our technology partners and across the company. Upholding the company’s culture, mission, and values by ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Essential Functions:

Collaborate across engineering product platforms & technical teams to develop solutions.
Develop and maintain relationships with external industry engine, hydraulic, and driveline partners to enhance development capabilities.
Partner with both our vehicle systems experts and engine suppliers to craft a comprehensive power system development and validation strategy.
Coach, mentor, and provide direction to the power systems design team, fostering professional growth and technical proficiency.
Provide input on the development of engineering processes and procedures.
Promote and maintain a high level of teamwork and collaboration.
Assure staffing requirements are met.
Estimate resources required to complete projects.
Willing and able to collaborate with and lead international teams in various time zones.
Provide budget input on product development tasks.
Be accountable for team member growth and development.
Coordinate team member performance evaluations, and goal setting
Interface with engine, hydraulic, and driveline component suppliers to understand the design, fabrication, and use of their components.
Oversee the detailing and releasing of engineering drawings for components and systems for which you are responsible.
Maintain CAD for components, systems, and schematics (we use Autodesk Inventor).
Uphold company policies and procedures, contributing to a harmonious working environment and strong working relationships.
Lead new product introduction design efforts, ensuring timing and product quality are in alignment with engineering specifications.
Anticipate and adapt to technological changes in the industry, ensuring departmental readiness for development of new and existing products.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

Comprehensive knowledge of design and development practices focusing on designing power systems for heavy machinery.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage a specialized team effectively.
Skilled in applying technical knowledge to support and enhance engineering practices.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the engineering team and external partners.
Capable of managing multiple development projects under tight deadlines with a focus on safety and quality.
Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures.

Work Environment:

This is primarily an office classification, and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. May work offsite in various environments; travel may be required.

Physical & Travel Demands:

The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports, records, and other materials that typically weigh less than 30 pounds.
Up to 25% domestic and international travel is expected.
Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience working in an engineering capacity supporting product development with a particular focus on engine, hydraulic, and driveline systems in the material handling, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or other heavy equipment industry.
5+ years of supervisory experience with a track record of leading successful teams is required.
A master's degree in a related engineering field is preferred.
