Metal bellows accumulators are robust energy storage components widely used in hydraulic systems that need to absorb pressure changes, store fluid under pressure, and maintain system performance in a variety of applications. Metal bellows accumulators differ from bladder or piston accumulators in that they contain a bellows element (in this case a welded, hermetically sealed element) that separates the hydraulic fluid from the compressible gas (typically nitrogen). Because it is hermetically sealed with no elastomeric interface, there is no possibility of elastomer degradation, excellent resistance to high temperature and aggressive media, and no gas permeation. Metal bellows accumulators are ideal for applications where high cycle life is important, including aerospace, offshore, mobile hydraulics, and energy systems, including hydraulic accumulators (which require process precision, durability,y and no leaks).
