Installation of Asia's Tallest Flare Tower, Reaching 168 Meters, Achieved Using SANY's 2000-ton Crawler Crane

The installation of the flare tower was executed through the subdivision of eight vertical assembly sections, adopting a modular lifting strategy. The initial segment was assembled using a foundational method, while segments two through eight were managed with the SCC20000A crawler crane from SANY. The lifting process, encompassing a span of 45 days, hinged on the 'single crane lifting and rotating method.

At the worksite, considering the tower's dimensions and mass, the SCC20000A was configured with a 108-meter primary arm, accompanied by a 108m+60m tower-type jib and a 108m+90m tower-type jib. These configurations were precisely matched to facilitate the installation procedures for seven segments. This achievement not only highlighted the capabilities of the SCC20000A crawler crane but also stood as a notable milestone in the petrochemical sector of Asia.
