Description

The associate in this position will be responsible for performing mechanical service including inspection, repair, maintenance, CE, and installation of various types of Regal Rexnord and similar products. The associate will be able to assist or perform a variety of field service duties and may be asked to lead teams of peers in these types of activities. Service activities may include, but are not limited to, mechanical and electrical tasks, as well as assistance with tasks such as procurement of supplies, organization of equipment/tools, and completion of field service reports. In addition, this person will be required to interact with and utilize a variety of software types, instruments, and computer equipment. The majority of service activities are in North America however, service activities in other countries are common and will occur.

  • Perform field service at remote sites in a variety of world regions, locations, environments, and conditions.
  • Perform field service activities including inspection, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and installation of all products manufactured by Regal Rexnord, as well as similar products manufactured by competitors.
  • Operate equipment such as torches, presses, hoists, lift/fork trucks, hydraulic wrenches, and other miscellaneous tools.
  • Evaluate the product to determine the root cause of failure
  • Perform field service activities including monitoring, diagnostics and drive train alignments as needed
  • Coordinate repair findings with the monitoring & diagnostics team to identify potential machinery faults and opportunities based on inspection results
  • Document field service activities and results in required formats, (i.e. word processor, spreadsheet, cloud-based template, etc.)
  • Provide technical support to external and internal customers
  • Train internal and external customers (i.e. equipment techniques and troubleshooting skills)
  • Train internal and external customers on product installation, repair, and use
  • Maintain inventory of repair service components, products, and tooling for field service activities
  • Maintain company service vehicle tools and supply cleanliness, organization, and inventory to support field service activities
  • Maintain company service vehicle cleanliness and schedule routine maintenance to keep the vehicle in good/safe working condition
  • Drive company vehicle on long trips to and from assigned service assignments
  • Fly to and from assigned service assignments
  • Other duties as required

Requirements/Qualifications

Education:

  • Required: Secondary-level (beyond H.S.) industrial/mechanical trade school or apprenticeship diploma/certificate
  • Preferred: Associate’s degree in an industrial/mechanical-based engineering technology or technician program
  • Primary language: English

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in one of the following areas: Field Services, Millwright, Machinist,
  • Maintenance/Repair, or Engineering
  • Prior experience with rotating mechanical power transmission products, (i.e. gear reducers, motors, bearings, couplings, universal shafts, etc.) preferred
  • Industrial maintenance or technical service experience preferred, (hands-on mechanical background preferred)
  • Experience and competence in reading and interpreting blueprints and other technical drawings
  • Experience and competence using measuring tools/equipment (i.e. micrometers, calipers, and dial and electronic indicators).
  • Experience and competence with industrial drive train alignment.
  • Experience and competence with hand tools

Skills:

  • Ability to carry and lift items such as, but not limited to, tools, equipment, and components weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Agility to climb and maneuver in tight spaces
  • Ability to wear safety equipment such as, but not limited to, hard hats, steel-toed boots, ear plugs, safety glasses, goggles, face mask, respirator, fire-resistant clothing, gloves, safety harness, etc.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, both written and oral (MS Office)
  • Can effectively function in a matrix and team environment
  • Effective organizational and time management skills

Certifications:

  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Valid/current passport preferred
  • OSHA 30 training for construction or general industry completed within the last 5 years preferred
  • MSHA Certification preferred
  • CMRT, (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician) preferred

Travel:

  • Frequent travel is required including both ground and air transportation. Multi-night stays are often required.
