Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Mantech is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting research, planning, designing and developing applications for electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
• Reviewing standards, specifications, and other contractor documentation to determine mechanical engineering requirements.
• Using analytical and investigative methods and techniques to design, repair or review gas and diesel engines, basic mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation and/or instrumentation systems that satisfy required specifications.
• Gathering and correlating basic data such as calculations and tests to complete routine engineering research and development assignments in the development of new applications or improvements to existing hardware.
• Providing direction and assistance to technicians in the fabrication and installation of basic mechanical and related equipment and systems in order to ensure the conformity of the product and systems to engineering design and customer specifications.
• May evaluate field installations and make recommendations for design revisions to alleviate malfunctions or improve equipment or systems operation.
• May review and amend drawings to ensure that products conform to proper engineering methodology and specifications. Tasks may require physical abilities.
