COASTAL MOUNTAIN EXCAVATIONS LTD is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join their dynamic team. The selected candidate will ensure the fleet operates at peak performance, directly contributing to safety, efficiency, and sustainability in daily operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review the daily schedule of work
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and check-in procedures before the start of the shift and at the end of each shift. This includes changing fluids for the vehicle and greasing, fueling, and lubricating, and all other maintenance that is performed between the beginning and the end of the shift should be authorized by the Chief Mechanic.
  • If your equipment is broken to be repaired in your work shift
    • You should check in with your supervisor as soon as possible
    • It is not considered to be private time, and you can be given other tasks and are required to complete work that helps move the company forward. You are working for the company.
    • When the fix is likely to take a considerable amount of time, and there's no other option, the shift will be canceled.
    • Make sure you receive clear instructions for your next shift and from your supervisor before you leave the work site
  • Make sure equipment is clean both indoors and outdoors
  • Always operate the machine legally and safely. Be aware of dangers and adhere to safety procedures for work.
  • Completely comprehends the range of work
  • Able to read and comprehend the layout information, in conjunction with the plans
  • Capable of maximizing the productivity out of equipment without overusing it.
  • Make sure you have the necessary materials
  • Trench excavations on the grade
  • Bulk excavations in a rational and systematic manner
  • Backfilling
  • Landscaping/Grading
  • Tasks requiring specific equipment
  • Trucks loaded with loads
  • Complete daily paperwork in a well-organized, clear, and legible style, including all relevant details
  • Assuresthe  satisfaction of customers by showing an approachable and pleasant manner
  • Assists in quality control on the job
  • Always wear personal safety equipment (hard cap, hi-vis vests, and steel-toed boots)
