  • What You’ll Be Doing 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the inspection, servicing, and maintenance of a variety of heavy construction equipment, including earth-moving equipment, cranes, loaders, bulldozers, excavators, and aerial lifts. 
  • Learn to perform preventive maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, tire checks, filter replacement, and equipment inspections. 
  • Help diagnose equipment issues and assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems. 
  • Assist with repairing and replacing damaged parts and components, ensuring all work meets manufacturer specifications. 
  • Test and verify that the repaired equipment is functioning properly. 
  • Document all inspections, maintenance, and repairs by company standards and ensure accurate record-keeping. 
  • Follow all safety procedures and health regulations, ensuring a safe working environment at all times. 
  • Learn to use diagnostic tools and computer applications to assist in troubleshooting and equipment maintenance. 
  • Attend training and development sessions as required to meet apprenticeship program standards. 
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and team members to enhance your skills and knowledge in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. 
  • What You'll Bring to the Team 

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Enrollment in a recognized heavy equipment technician apprenticeship program (or willingness to enroll). 
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; additional technical courses or certifications in mechanics or related fields are an asset. 
  • Mechanical knowledge and an interest in learning more about heavy equipment repair and maintenance. 
  • Strong willingness to learn, with a focus on gaining hands-on experience in the field. 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver's abstract  
  • Understanding of tools, equipment, and machinery. 
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions closely. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with colleagues, customers, and supervisors. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
    Good physical condition and the ability to work in challenging outdoor environments.  

Preferred Qualifications: 

Previous experience or internships in a mechanical or equipment-related field an asset 
Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. 
Ability to use diagnostic equipment and other technical tools.
