Authorization for Flat-Face Screw-to-Connect Couplings

Authorization for Flat-Face Screw-to-Connect Couplings API Compliance Certification of QRC-FG couplings by API Specification 16D/EUB Guideline 36

Authorization for Flat-Face Screw-to-Connect Couplings

Lloyd’s Register has certified various types and sizes of QRC-FG couplings, conforming to the standards set by the American Petroleum Institute (API) Specification 16D and the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) Directive 36. These standards establish design criteria for systems regulating blowout preventers (BOPs) and the valves that manage well pressure during drilling operations.
Compliance with API Specification 16D and EUB Directive 36 mandates that STAUFF's QRC-FG flat-face hydraulic screw-to-connect couplings undergo testing at 700°C for a minimum of 5 minutes, at a specific rating pressure of 345 bar, without experiencing pressure loss or leakage. This is commonly called the 'fire safe' rating for hydraulic couplings.
