DTW wiper seals

DTW wiper seals are snap-in types and Fig. 2 features a one-lip design along with a static sealing lip placed in the outside radius direction from which positive contact with the housing is maintained. The axial static seal lip in the external face ensures that the wiper remains in position within the housing and works as an auxiliary seal. Operation pressures may contact the rod at the inside wiper seal edge, such as during rod extension. In this circumstance, and if the rod seal has been damaged or otherwise reached its service life, notches on the inside edge of the wiper seal prevent the pressure from being trapped behind it. Additionally, from pressure being forced rearward to expel it.
