Mineral-Based Hydraulic Oil

Mineral-Based Hydraulic Oil

Mineral-based hydraulic oils are derived from fractions of crude oil, which are then subjected to a refining process to attain sufficient lubricating properties. Subsequently, these oils are fortified with a range of additives, each serving distinct functions. These additives encompass anti-wear capabilities, resistance against rust and oxidation, enhancement of viscosity index, and various other attributes.

Due to their petroleum origins, mineral hydraulic oils are a more cost-effective alternative when compared to their synthetic counterparts. The performance of these lubricating oils, such as Valvoline HVLP and HLP conventional hydraulic oils, largely depends on the quality of the base oil and the specific additives employed. Additives in mineral-based hydraulic oils play a vital role in shielding hydraulic systems from corrosion, minimizing wear and tear, mitigating water contamination, enhancing the oil's demulsifying properties, and improving its viscosity index to withstand temperature fluctuations. Furthermore, within this category, one can also find hydraulic oils with detergent and dispersant qualities.
