Mobile Directional Valve - V20

A Mobile Directional Valve like V20 is considered a critical hydraulic component in many mobile equipment setups, such as in excavators, loaders, and agricultural machinery. It controls the direction of the hydraulic fluid's flow, controlling the movement of actuators in the form of cylinders and motors. Here is how it operates:

 Basic Principle:

Spool: Inside the valve body is a cylindrical spool with precisely machined grooves and lands.

Ports: The valve body has multiple ports connected to the hydraulic pump, tank, and actuators.

Spool Positioning: By shifting the spool within the valve body, different ports are connected or blocked, directing the hydraulic fluid to the desired actuator.

How the V20 Works:

Sectional Design: The V20 is a sectional valve, so it is a collection of several sections that can be stacked together. Each section has a specific hydraulic function to be controlled, like boom lift and bucket tilt.

Inlet Section: It receives pressurized oil coming from the hydraulic pump. Typically, it will have a pressure relief valve, which protects the system from being over-pressurized.

Outlet Section: This section sends the returned oil back to the hydraulic tank.

Actuation: The spool can be actuated manually by levers, hydraulically by pilot pressure, or electrically by solenoids.
