The Cat® 785D Water Truck introduces an innovative approach to effectively control haul road dust while conserving water resources

Ensuring effective dust management on mine haul roads is of paramount importance for the well-being and safety of workers. Caterpillar's latest innovation, the Cat® 785D Water Solutions Truck, is built upon the reliable Cat® 785D truck platform and combines advanced technology with the Cat Water Delivery System (WDS) to provide a more efficient approach to haul road maintenance while conserving water resources.

This new 785D water truck addresses issues related to overwatering and underwatering. It incorporates a built-in 121,133-liter (32,000-gallon) Cat-branded water tank, equipped with a spray system, splash guards, a fill chute, and rock ejectors. Additionally, it features Cat MineStar Edge™ connectivity, offering both basic and premium plan options to suit site-specific requirements. The Cat WDS facilitates safer and more productive site watering management.

With a maximum water flow rate of up to 3,785 liters per minute (1,200 gallons per minute), the truck's AutoMode spray controls automatically determine water coverage based on the number of activated heads and the truck's speed. Alternatively, manual mode allows the operator to set a consistent water flow rate regardless of speed. The 785D boasts exclusive variable active spray heads to regulate water spray and flow, delivering a water flow rate ranging from 130 to 2,270 liters per minute (35 to 600 gallons per minute) per spray head. The spray system autonomously adjusts the head opening to achieve the desired AutoMode coverage or manual mode flow rate.
