Eaton's Power Delivery Division is actively seeking a Controls/Test Engineer to join our team, and this role requires on-site presence. The position comes with the opportunity for relocation within the US. The anticipated annual salary for this role falls within the range of $88,000 to $130,000. It's important to note that the salary details provided are a general reference and may vary based on the candidate's skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
          As a Test/Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our significant investment of $100 million in a new facility in Nacogdoches. Your primary responsibilities include contributing to the design, development, fabrication, validation, installation, support, and troubleshooting of production test equipment and programs. This role involves leading cross-functional project teams and collaborating with both local and extended team members at an advanced level of proficiency.

Key Duties:

  • Guide the design and selection of manufacturing and test equipment.
  • Support, service, and troubleshoot test equipment and electrical systems within the plant.
  • Develop equipment specifications to ensure compliance with electrical safe work practices and OSHA requirements, identifying and addressing potential safety hazards.
  • Conduct root cause and failure analysis, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to achieve specified cost, quality, and performance goals.
  • Instruct and guide the capital equipment selection process.
  • Develop and assess Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) for major new product or process programs related to testing/controls.
  • Utilize advanced technology and innovation to enhance the effectiveness of information systems for testing/controls.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline the flow of factory floor test information and eliminate waste.
  • Lead projects, establishing project goals, budgets, and work breakdown structures.
  • Proactively coordinate resources across various functions to ensure project goals are met, including Production, Quality, EHS, Maintenance, Engineering, and contractors/vendors.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLC, HMI programming, and safety systems design.
  • Proficiency in various computer programming software such as Visual Basic/Studio, SQL, and other Microsoft applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
          Experience with Rockwell Software (RS and Factory Talk), RSLogix 5, RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME, FactoryTalk SE, VB6.

Skills:

  • NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret regulations and standards, implementing Electrical Safe Work practices such as NFPA 70E.
