2016 IADC International Deepwater Drilling Conference & Exhibition:...

In the current challenging oil price environment, the industry must be resolved to work together in a collaborative effort to increase our productivity. The challenge includes addressing the issues of safety, equipment reliability and reducing non-productive time. New technologies will assist the industry’s efforts to meet these issues.    Once again, IADC will convene its International Deepwater Drilling Conference in Brazil, one of the preeminent deepwater venues in the world. The conference will examine cutting-edge technological advances and challenges for deepwater drilling and completions in key deepwater markets worldwide.    Call for Abstracts    IADC is pleased to issue a Call for Abstracts for the 2016 IADC International Deepwater Drilling Conference & Exhibition.  Papers on deepwater applications are welcome, with a special emphasis on case histories. General subject themes envisioned for the event include the following, though abstracts exploring other areas will also be considered:    Downhole Technologies    Surface BOP drilling from floaters  Hydraulics for deepwater  Subsalt drilling  Casing string management in deepwater  Monobore applications, including casing/liner drilling & expandables  Rotary steerable systems  Managed pressure drilling & underbalanced operations  Complex drilling/completion fluids  Subsalt casing drilling  Well Construction    Well placement  HPHT drilling  Well design  Incidents/Close calls on location/Lessons learned  Regulatory issues  Certification competency issues  Managed pressure drilling & underbalanced operations  Deepwater Completions    Drilling/Completion interface  Gravel packing  Intelligent completions  Sandface completion  Proppants & fluids  Drilling Rigs    Riser management  Rig design  Rig automation  Drilling equipment  Well Control    Training & Certification  Well Control/Operations in environments of up to 20,000 psi & above  Contingency planning  Authors are invited to submit proposals for presentations at the conference.
