About the role

We have a great opportunity for a General Operative to join our Team in Kerry Carrigaline, Co. Cork.

This is a full-time, permanent position with 8-hour workdays from Monday to Friday. The work pattern may change based on demand, and overtime opportunities are available. The role is varied, with a primary focus on production. It is ideal for candidates with previous manufacturing experience who are technically minded, eager to engage in continuous improvement initiatives, and open to cross-training in other departments.

Where will you work?

Our Kerry site in Carrigaline specializes in the production and distribution of enzymes and brewing ingredients for a global market. Located in a quiet, green area, the site is conveniently near a bus station, making it just a 30-minute journey from Cork City. The onsite parking is available.

What will you do?

  • Your responsibilities as a General Operative will include:
  • Actively engaging in relevant training plans to ensure target outcomes are achieved.
  • Ensuring all operations are carried out as per procedures.
  • Complying with all Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Maintaining the production areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Developing a working knowledge and understanding of relevant plant equipment, pipe runs, services, etc.
  • Engaging in cross-training and being flexible to work in other departments if required.
  • Ensuring all appropriate documentation is completed in a neat and timely manner.
  • Adopting a proactive approach in achieving site, departmental, and individual targets.
  • Ensuring safe and efficient use of forklift trucks.
  • Continuously improving in day-to-day duties.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing production environment is required. Preferably in a liquids blending role.
  • Experience and a certificate for forklift trucks (counterbalance) are required.
  • A leaving certificate or equivalent is required.
  • Third-level certificate in engineering/production (e.g. QQI/FETAC level 5) is desirable.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • An energetic person, willing to work on their initiative and as part of a team.
  • Computer literate – Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP.
