Overview: 
          In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and implementing manufacturing processes and systems. Your duties will encompass analyzing production data for enhancements, managing production schedules, overseeing quality control, introducing new technologies, and handling vendor relationships for machining new products or modifying existing ones. The position involves calculating production, labor, and material costs, along with forecasting future needs in these areas. Proficiency in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials is crucial. Your primary goal is to ensure efficient, cost-effective production while upholding the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and collaborating with the Design Engineering, manufacturing, and management teams.
  • Enhance manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Ensure product and process quality through the design of testing and fixturing methods.
  • Provide decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Compile product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Share manufacturing engineering information by addressing questions and requests.
  • Uphold product and company reputation by adhering to industry regulations.
  • Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
  • Maintain product and process databases.
  • Conclude design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Stay abreast of professional and technical knowledge through participation in educational workshops.

Qualifications:
Minimum:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience.
  • Hydraulics and subsea control experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in CAD or CAM software is a plus.
  • Machining experience is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Initiative-taking attitude.
  • Relevant technological knowledge.
  • Ability to lead and work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to take projects from concept to production.
  • Occasional travel to customer locations may be required.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Work performed in both shop and office environments.
  • Exposure to shop conditions such as noise, dust, odors, and fumes.
  • Bending and stooping throughout shifts.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as hoists, positioners, pallet jacks, and fork trucks.
  • Lift to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • Must be capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling materials and equipment to fulfill assigned tasks.

Training Requirements:

  • General Safety.
  • ISO 9001.
  • Applicable FOPs.
  • Forklift operation.
  • Lockout-tagout training.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Safety glasses.
  • Steel-toe shoes/composite toe.
  • Additional PPE may be required for specific tasks, such as gloves, goggles, shields, aprons, etc.
