Role & Responsibilities

As a Pipe Fitter in this program, you will support the pipe fitting functions with a strong emphasis on Safety Performance, Quality, and Technical standards.

To be successful in this role, you will have trade qualifications in a metal trade discipline, with knowledge of pipe fabrication and installation, Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems, testing and verification techniques. Your experience would have been gained in the manufacture, installation, test, and verification of Piping Systems in the Construction, Heavy Engineering, Defence, or Shipbuilding industries. Knowledge of CNC Pipe Bending machines, Draw Bending, and other various manual bending techniques would also be favorable.

The training will be a combination of classroom-based training and on-the-job learning.

Opportunities are available immediately and individuals wishing to express interest in a position should be available and interested in being repatriated in the near term.

After your deployment, you will return to Western Australia to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines.

The successful person will possess:

Trade Qualification - Metal Trade.
1-5 years (Max. 5 years) experience in a similar role.
Experience with working in restricted areas and confined spaces.
Proven ability to be flexible and an eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
