The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs a variety of skilled maintenance work that requires a good knowledge of various trades, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics. Basic knowledge of HVAC, Building Automation, Fire Protection, Boilers, Steam Systems, Wastewater Treatment, and Security systems is also required.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is expected to troubleshoot, repair, install, adjust, and maintain all equipment and systems that are critical to the facility’s infrastructure, as well as maintain the grounds, offices, and common areas.

Shift hours: 

Thursday – Tuesday; 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
 Pay:

$25.00 per hour.

What your day will look like:

  • Ownership of the Wastewater Treatment Room, including tracking of the testing results, chemical inventory, and overall performance.
  • HVAC basic PMs and first response for trouble calls. Coordinate with the HVAC contractor for reactive maintenance service calls.
  • Plumbing repairs and replacements on existing systems including Toilets, Faucets, Flush valves, Leak repairs, Water fountains (filter changes), etc.
  • Drywall repair and painting.
  • Floor Maintenance such as carpet squares tile replacements and floor patching.
  • Overhead Doors, Dock Door, dock lock, dock leveler, and pedestrian door basic repairs. Coordinate with the Overhead Door contractor for more in-depth service calls.
  • General Office upkeep including light replacement, ballast replacement, ceiling tiles, cubicle repairs, cabinet repairs, locker repairs, whiteboards, mount TVs, etc.
  • Lubrication PMs on non-food contact equipment and systems.
  • Compliance with PMs on eye wash stations, fire systems, boilers, and compressors.
  • Grounds & Roof Maintenance such as keeping drains clear, keeping emergency exits clear, roof leaks, etc.
  • Basic electrical repair on existing 120V circuits including outlets, light switches, light fixtures, etc.
  • Bollard and railing installation and repairs.
  • On-site liaison for vendors/contractor visits and service calls.
  • Hot Work, Red Tag, Line Break, & Confined Space permit process knowledge.
  • Read and understand blueprints, schematics, specifications, technical drawings, work orders, processing charts, and manufacturers' manuals to determine the correct installation and operation of machinery.
  • Be able to identify and apply LOTO/CoHE properly.
  • Familiar with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Identify and suggest changes to the PM Work Order Program
  • Order supplies, materials, or equipment. Record parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary. Record repairs and maintenance performed utilizing Maximo (CMMS).
  • Perform safety inspections.
  • Advise changes needed in the maintenance schedule to the Team Leader.

What you have to offer:  

High School diploma or GED.
Experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment. 

Physical requirements: 

  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net, and gloves when required
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
  • Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
  • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
