Hitachi Establishes LANDCROS Development Center in Germany

Hitachi Construction Machinery has established the LANDCROS Development Center Europe GmbH in Germany on January 1st, 2026. The company will function as an important research and development center. The wholly-owned subsidiary will be focused on the acceleration of the development of excavators powered by batteries, ICT-enabled products, and the most technologically advanced solutions. The center will be located in Europe--a continent known as a strict environment with stringent laws and huge demand for zero-emission, efficient construction technologies--Hitachi hopes to create next-generation machinery that is in line with its brand new "LANDCROS" label and its global long-term strategy. It will become part of Hitachi's R&D global network as well as existing centers located in Japan as well as India.
