Komatsu unveils historic P&H 2100BL shovel monument at Elko, Nevada facility

At its campus in Elko, Nevada, Komatsu unveiled the historic P&H 2100BL electric rope shovel as a new landmark.  The enormous machine, which weighs more than a million pounds and is as tall as a five-story building, was moved from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1979 to represent the engineering prowess and enduring legacy of P&H Mining Equipment.  Komatsu's strong ties to the mining industry and its $57 million investment in the Elko service center, a cutting-edge regional hub for supporting heavy mining and construction equipment, are highlighted by the shovel's conspicuous display that can be seen from I-80.
