Parker unveils the NX8xHM motor

Parker Hannifin, a global leader in motion and control technologies, is introducing the latest member of its high-performance mobile motor family, the NX8xHM series, designed for low-voltage applications. This new permanent magnet AC (PMAC) motor is a cost-effective solution suitable for a wide range of on-road and off-road vehicles, including 48Vdc construction equipment like mini excavators, as well as on-highway truck steering systems and auxiliary functions. One of the standout features of the NX8xHM motor series, compatible with battery voltages ranging from 24Vdc to 96Vdc, is its user-friendly implementation. With four threaded holes on all sides for mechanical mounting and the option for a direct SAE A pump-mounting interface (ISO 3019/2),
along with lugs for easy power cable connection, installation becomes a straightforward and efficient process. This not only reduces costs but also shortens project lead times.

While the NX8xHM motors are initially designed for natural convection cooling within ambient temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C, you can enhance their torque and power capabilities by adding cold plates to the sides. A PT1000 thermal sensor is in place to ensure precise temperature control within the motor, while a membrane breather vent minimizes internal condensation, contributing to its high reliability.
