Shift/s Available for this Position:

D shift (Monday - Thursday) 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Check, repair, and maintain equipment observing for and correcting defects.  Replace defective parts making necessary adjustments to ensure proper machine functioning.
Modify existing machine tools to allow for the performance of specified operations.
Operate a variety of machine tools to fabricate replacement parts, using drawings or old parts to obtain dimensional requirements.
Check and audit problem parts for dimensional accuracy using various types of fixed and hand-held measuring devices.  Identify and eliminate problems in the department, which affect productivity, quality, or safety.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Technical training; exposure to high-speed equipment preferred.
2 or more years of related experience in the maintenance of production machines.
Special skills required:  electronic/electrical, PLC and computers, safety, troubleshooting, test equipment, schematics, mechanical, metric system, statistical process control (SPC), blueprint reading, measuring techniques, and pneumatics.  
Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Required to use safety glasses and wear steel-toe shoes while performing specific tasks or while in specific manufacturing areas. Works on equipment that involves hazardous environments requiring protective equipment that conforms to OSHA regulations and some physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, and noise.
