RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The mechanic will perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines
  • Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs
  • Maintain a safe work environment through job planning and identifying and correcting hazards.
  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment utilizing welding, pipefitting, plumbing, millwright, and machinery skills.
  • Troubleshoot and isolate mechanical problems; implement corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Ability to diagnose issues with hydraulics and electrical systems.
  • Read and interpret plans, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Plan and layout work by applicable standards and codes.
  • Performs repair or preventive maintenance on conveyors, plant sorting equipment, and heavy equipment to maximize safe and productive operations.
  • Provide estimates of time and materials required, requisition tools and supplies by established procedures.
  • Completes all paperwork associated with repairs, documenting parts usage and work order times.
  • Ability to work in different types of weather. There will be outside work.
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Prepare and maintain documentation and reports, as required.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One to three years of equivalent experience.
  • Requires the use of analytical judgment to plan and perform diversified work, making decisions within the prescribed limitations.
  • Experience in pump, motor, and gear reducer repair and troubleshooting.
  • Welding experience a plus
  • Mechanical Certification(s) preferred.
